Aspects are items that can be attached to your gear as you Diablo 4, and allow Rare or greater items to obtain Legendary rarity and traits. This guide will serve as a checklist to help you keep track of all the Aspects you can unlock in-game and how to equip them.

Codex Of Power Aspects become available after you complete a dungeon, and once they're unlocked, you can put them on a rare or legendary item to change their effect. You'll also be able to put the aspect you've unlocked on any piece of gear you want, as long as it's compatible with your class.

It's also worth noting that you can find an upgraded version of an Aspect you might already have out in the wild tied to another item. It is possible to extract that upgraded Aspect but to do that, you'll have to destroy the item that it's tied to. In addition to that, if you unlock Aspects that aren't compatible with your class, don't worry because they can be used on a new character once.

Certain Legendary Gear that can drop for you may also have Aspects that cannot be gained through Dungeons and are not stored in your Codex. These Aspects can only be transferred once to another piece of gear via the Occultist, but after that, you'll need to find another Legendary Item in the wild with that same Aspect.

Now that you have an aspect you want to equip, you'll need to visit an Occultist. A menu will appear as soon as you begin talking to them, and you can upgrade your items. When everything is in order, you'll be able to preview your gear, and at the bottom, you'll see the new effect added to your gear.

Before you can equip the Aspect, make sure you have enough gold and Veiled Crystals. To get Veiled Crystals, all you need to do is visit a Black Smith and salvage rare or legendary items. But it's important to note that when you salvage an item, you're not guaranteed a Veiled Crystal, and it might take a few tries.

As you increase in level and gain gear with higher item levels, you'll eventually need additional materials known as Baleful Fragments, Coiling Wards, and Abstruse Sigils, which can only be gained by salvaging higher level Legendary Gear - though just like Veiled Crystals, it is not guaranteed. The higher the item level, the more materials you are likely to get.

114 Aspects can be unlocked and stored in your Codex, but there are many more that can only be found from random drops. Of the Codex Aspects, most of them require you to clear dungeons to unlock them, but a few require you to play the main game. They're also broken up into the following categories:

Listed below are all the aspects, alongside what they do and how to unlock them.

Defensive Aspects can be applied to Shields, Helms, Chest Armor, Pants, and Amulets.

Offensive Aspects can be applied to Necklaces, Weapons, Gloves, and Rings.

Resource Aspects can be applied only to Rings.

Utility Aspects can be applied to Shields, Helms, Chest Armor, Amulets, Gloves, and Boots.

Mobility Aspects can be applied to Amulets and Boots.
